Season 1

The detective anime show’s first season was first premiered in America as a dubbed version on 24th May, 2004 and ended on 6th July, 2004. Kenji Kodama and Yasuichiro Yamamoto have directed the episodes of the season.

Jimmy Kudo is hanging out with Rachel Moore at an amusement park when they witness a crime and Jimmy decides to get involved. The men, drug him a poison to kill him but his body gets reduced to his seven year old self. He then changes his identity to ‘Conan Edogawa’ and goes up to stay with Rachel’s father, Richard Moore, a detective. In the mean time he aids Kogoro to solve the case of the kidnapped daughter of a wealthy man. Another case he handles is of pop idol, Yoko Okino who believes that a guy is stalking her. Conan thinks that her rival Yuko and her manager are involved in attempts of tarnishing her image, when a dead man’s is found in Yoko’s apartment, with a knife in his back.

One day at a museum, a piece of paper with symbols and word “ORO” is found by the Junior Detective League. Conan concludes that it is some sort of treasure map and even enables the capture of the men belonging to Italian mafia. Another day, in the Shinkansen bullet train, Conan learns that there is a bomb on the train and gets hold of it, just in the nick of time. At the Valentine’s party, a jealous Conan follows Rachel but is confronted by the murder of the host.

Rachel has doubts about Conan being Jimmy when they are investigating the case of mysterious gifts being sent to surgeon Dr. Ogawa. Conan quickly realizes that Ogawa’s child is under threat and saves him. Next, Conan gets involved in the murder of the manager of the local art museum by what is supposed to be the mysterious ghost knight. On the night of the Tenkaichi Night Festival, a famous writer has been killed, but the chief suspect Sasai has a perfect alibi. However, detective Conan is not satisfied.

One day, a girl Reina, comes up at Richard’s office looking for Jimmy Kudo. Conan learns upon going to her apartment that soccer player Hide Akagi’s younger brother has been kidnapped to threaten him for losing a huge game. Keiji Asou sends Richard a large amount of money to investigate a case at Tsukikage Island, but when the party reaches there, they find that the Keiji has been dead for ten years, and three other murders have been committed. Ayumi Yoshida is playing hide and seek in the park and hides in the trunk of car before falling asleep. The car has now left the park and Ayumi is missing. Conan has to use all his detective skills and radio transmitters (courtesy Professor Agasa) to locate her.

Kogoro Detective Agency is visited by a lady who is looking for her father who has disappeared. A large man hires another detective to locate the lady but soon the men are found dead. Conan sees the lady confronting the offender. The next case is of a sniper who has been held up at gunpoint by some men, as the Detective Boys watch him shooting balloons. Conan reaches up where the sniper was positioned, but he is already gone, leaving behind a coded message. Then there is the case of a dead body the boys find when searching for a cat.

An antique collector wants his wife’s affairs be investigated but himself is found dead with misleading clues spread all over the crime scene. Conan detects a switch of drawers on the shelf and reveals the name of the killer. Another case arises when the detective boys are locked inside a department store, and the robbers strike the store. Conan has his doubts on the elevator girl as the mastermind of the operation. And old homeroom teacher of Conan and Rachel is about to get married but is poisoned with sodium hydroxide. Conan analyzes the video clips to pin point the murderer.

Rachel has been asked for a modeling assignment, but they find that an employee in the company has died in a non-stop elevator. Conan is dead sure about the murderer. The next event happens when Ayumi convinces the Detective Boys to investigate the abandoned house where an unsolved murder occurred many years ago. Conan and Ayumi find a caged man and an old woman in the house to solve the mystery of the murder. The next case is of the cameraman who has been murdered where Yoko Okino is shooting for a TV drama, where Rachel and Conan also have been invited. However, the dying man left a message and it is up to Conan to declare the murderer.

On home from vacation, Richard, Conan and Rachel hitch up a ride with the wealthy Hanamoto family on their private ship but the head of the family is found dead and even though Takeshi is the suspect, another murder happens quickly. However Takeshi has the support of Conan who believes that he is innocent. Then there is the artist Ichirō who appears to be of a bit shady character.

Conan, Rachel and Richard, come across a woman who has amnesia but is certain that some one out there is going to kill her. The last case that comes to Conan is from a wealthy man whose daughter has been abducted by some one asking for a whooping five hundred million yen as ransom money. But the queer fact remains the father is showing no inclination to pay the ransom in order to get his daughter back and safe.
